Montenegro

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

Sorry for the lack of news over the last month or so. We have been very busy chartering and cruising in the western Med. For the last few days we have been in the Montenegran town of Kotor. The scenery here is stunning, mountains rising straight out of the sea. Kotor is located at the end of the southern most fjord in Europe. After here we are heading north through Croatia to Venice.

We spent yesterday at a resort on the coast and then, in the evening, climbed to the Castle of St John which sits on a crag overlooking Kotor. The way up to the castle was a long winding set of steps but the view from the top was more than worth it.

The fjord is lined with peaks up to 1700 metres high and despite te cloudy weather we have had, Kotor is one of the most striking places we have visited for sometime.

We are still on Charter in the Western Med, in St Tropez at the moment (see right) though we are heading out to Croatia later in the month.

Our season has now started and we are moving around the Italian coast for a week or two before heading back towards France. Above is a picture of Dream anchored off Amalfi just south of Naples.

Wally tender

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

The last few weeks have been busy getting the boat back in shape for the summer season, as well as catching up with a few friends; including James who has a job driving this Wally tender (see right) for the summer. You can see more of the Wally tender here.

We have been in Cannes in the South of France for a few days now and are enjoying some French restaurant's with friends and my sisters, Julie and Helen who flew down for a day or two.

Crossing the Atlantic

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

After a slightly bumpy atlantic crossing (see above)  we are now back in Europe.

The last two days have been spent in Barcelona, waiting out a mistral in the Gulf du Lion. Hopefully we'll be underway to Cannes in a day or so, where we will get the boat cleaned up and ready for the busy summer season.

It was good to have a day or so here in Barcelona as a few friends were in town, especially Lara and Craig who have just got engaged.
